About Tupu

Why Mushrooms?

Mushrooms are packed with nutrients and can be grown at an environmental cost close to zero.

Only few foods can be grown as sustainable as mushrooms, as they require minimal space-, water-, and electricity. At the same time, they are packed with B-vitamins and antioxidants, and can even promote brain health and the immune system. A true superfood!

Meat Alternative

The perfect meat alternative.

With their delightful umami flavor, meaty texture, and unmatched versatility in the kitchen, mushrooms stand as the ultimate meat substitute.

From lion's mane steaks to oyster nuggets, mushrooms offer endless possibilities to craft perfect meat-free dihes. They even provide essential vitamins commonly found in animal products, like B2, B3, and D.

Delicious

From an umami add-on to a steak substitue, mushrooms enhance any dish.

Nutritious

Mushrooms are packed with B-vitamins, antioxidants, and fiber.

Eco-friendly

Mushrooms can be produced more sustainably than meat and even other vegetables.

Vision
Vision

It's clear that mushrooms are a phenomenal food through and through.

This makes it even more disheartening to learn about the long journeys they endure before reaching your plate.

While we prioritize ditching cars for trains and minimizing flights, mushrooms continue to travel up to 10,000 km from production to table, contributing to CO2 emissions and compromising their taste and nutritional value. Think about it: How fresh are you after a 15-hour flight?

We are building a Europe-wide network of farms in urban areas.

We want to produce food, right where it's consumed, skipping the lengthy supply chains and ensuring a final product that is fresh, nutritious, and full of flavor - all whilst minimizing our environmental impact. Our goal is to have farms in every major European hub.

Our Circular Approach

From cities, for cities.
As fresh as it gets.

From cities, for cities.

We have close partnerships with local companies to develop our own nutrient-rich substrate using their waste.

This circular approach will not only minimize waste but also prevent the extraction of further resources, contributing to an environmentally conscious ecosystem.
